First Beach Trip

This past weekend we loaded up the car and headed to Gulf Shores for a few days for some much needed relaxation.
Addison did fantastic! I was worried about traveling 5 hours with a 6 week old, but she slept 4 out of the 5 hours! Not a whimper the whole trip! I know.. I know.. sounds unbelievable even to me, but it's true. We had a traumatic experience on I 65 headed to the beach. We (everyone but me and April- we were tending to our little ones) saw a truck flip right in front of us on the interstate. We were the first people on the scene. Luckily everyone in the truck was okay. But it shook us all up. We could have easily been in the wreck if we had left our gas station 1 min. earlier. (Thanks Addison :) she wasn't in her carseat yet due to the fact she was still eating when everyone was ready to pull out.) The good Lord was watching out for our family and we are so thankful we made it to the beach safely and that those people were alright as well. Other than that event it was a very relaxing and enjoyable vacation. For the record, my child was NOT tortured by being dragged out in the hot sun to burn and sweat miserably. She only got on the beach when the sun was about down. Next year we will be doing some serious playing in the water  ;)

All SMILES! On our way to the beach!

Beach Baby!!  How cute is this?!

Catching Up...

Well, there have been A LOT of milestones met in the Wesley household the past couple of weeks.
Instead of boring you with words I will share pictures.

Two weeks ago our big girl got her very first tub bath. Mommy and Daddy got about as wet as she did. :)  Daddy actually sat in the tub with her while I bathed her. We were so afraid she was going to slip down too far and get water in those sweet little ears. I am NOT up for ear infections yet. I think we have a "water baby" because she loved it.

This week we took the advice of the grandparents and decided to try a bath in the sink. FYI this makes bath time so much easier!!! Again.. she loved it!:)

I love this little fish! She is growing so fast!

Daddy also celebrated a special birthday this week. He turned 30!!! We had the family over Friday night to celebrate. How cute was his cake?!

Addison bought her daddy a new wallet for his birthday. He was expecting a wallet so we tricked him by wrapping it in a bigger box. He was actually surprised for once. I am not good at giving him surprises...I ask too many questions about what he wants and needs. :) I gave him a picture for his mancave. Sorry no pic.

At three weeks old Addison made her first trip to church. She did fantastic! She slept the whole service.
Pay no attention to my hair in this picture. I had another picture that was better of me...but she was crying. The things we do for our babies.:)

Yesterday Addison was 1 month old. I can hardly believe it! At 1 month old Addison ...
Takes about 3-4 oz. each feeding.
Is starting to smile and make noises.
Loves to be rocked and read to.
Loves to take a bath in the tub.
Is completely spoiled by being held, but we don't mind at all :)
Now weighs 8 lbs. 13 oz.
Poops like no child I have ever seen!!
Is soooo loved by her mommy and daddy!

That's How You Know It's Love...

On June 4, 2005 I married my best friend, the love of my life, and the FATHER of my CHILD.
This is the first year I have gotten to say that last part;)  What can I say about Jared... he is the best husband in the world. He has given me more happiness in the 10 years that I've known him than I ever thought possible. Today we have been married 6 years! 6 years!! It doesn't seem possible, but they have been the best 6 years of my life. I knew Jared was "the one" after about an hour of knowing him. He was everything I had prayed for in a husband and I knew GOD had made us for each other.  Like all couples, our relationship has gone through good times and bad, but our love has seen us through it all.  And that's how my list
"That's How You Know It's Love" begins...

6 ways for 6 years..

You know it's love when...

1. Your husband (then boyfriend) stands out in the pouring rain and watches you cheer for a team he doesn't even like, just so he can drive you home.

2. You've been hooked in the head by the man and you find him even more attractive while laying in the hospital bed watching him pace the floor in worry for you.

3. He schemes with your best friend to surprise you at the beach by driving 5 hours and popping the big question.

4. You sit in silence fishing and you feel like it's the best conversation you've ever had with your spouse. His mere presence just makes me smile. :)

5. He works day and night on your dream home making it all you've ever wanted.

6. You simply melt watching him hold his daughter that you both created. ( I fell in love with him in a new way after watching him with our baby girl)

These are just 6 ways throughout our 10 years that I knew our love was true. I could go on and on...but I'll share pictures instead.

I've never loved him more... he is such a wonderful daddy!

True happiness is watching the two people  you love most in the world bond. :)

Again... PRICELESS

Jared, we have had an awesome 6 years! This one was incredible! Thank you for making the past 6 years the happiest of my life! I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for our next 6 years together!! I love you! Happy 6th Anniversary!!!
